PNGO Calls for International Intervention to Completely Lift the Siege on the Gaza Strip

The Palestinian NGOs Network (PNGO) strongly condemns the ongoing blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip by the Israeli occupation. The Blockade highly disturbs the movement of persons and goods from and to the Strip, considering great destruction and severe damage to infrastructure, houses, and facilities in Gaza during its recent aggression.

PNGO pointed out that the Israeli occupation obstructs the entry of various types of goods except for some types of foods, medicines, and fuel, as well as prevent the export of all types of products from the Gaza Strip, including agricultural products. Further, the Israeli occupation is preventing the movement of citizens and postal including passports through the Beit Hanoun crossing, in addition to imposing restrictions on the Gaza Sea and attacking its fishermen.

PNGO also stresses that the Israeli occupation aims through the continuation of the blockade, the closure of the crossings, and the reduction of the fishing area, to deepen the humanitarian crisis and inflict losses on various economic, social, and health sectors.

Therefore, the Network warns of the continued and dangerous Israeli malpractices that is leading to serious repercussions on various sectors, which is considered a flagrant violation of all international covenants and treaties.

On the same note, PNGO calls on the international community to urgently pressure the Israeli occupation authorities to lift the blockade, open the crossings to the movement of people and goods in and out of Gaza, and remove all restrictions that hinders fishermen’s work and stop the attack on them.

PNGO also calls on all parties to reject any justifications or conditions for Gaza’s reconstruction while Israel continues to impose its illegal blockade.
