The Palestinian NGOs Network (PNGO) health sector strongly condemns the escalating crimes of the Israeli occupation against the health system in the northern Gaza Strip.
The health sector in PNGO refers to the Israeli occupation storming of Kamal Adwan Hospital, the forcible evacuation of the sick and wounded, and targeting of medical staff, which led to the death of five of them and the destruction of hospital facilities. The director of Al-Awda Hospital in Tal Al-Zaatar and six medical staff were also injured by the detonation of robot inside the hospital, along with the forcible evacuation of the Indonesian hospital and the arrest of a number of medical staff and patients.
PNGO health sector pointed out the blockade imposed by the occupation on the northern Gaza Strip, especially on hospitals for more than eighty days, where the entry of supplies of medicine, food, water and fuel is prohibited, which has exacerbated the health situation in the northern Gaza Strip.
PNGO network stresses that the Israeli occupation seeks by targeting hospitals to destroy what remains of the necessities of life in the northern Gaza Strip, within the framework of the crimes of genocide committed against civilians and civil institutions.
PNGO recalls the Israeli occupation during the past months in targeting hospitals and the medical system, and the massacres committed by the Israeli occupation in Al-Shifa Hospital, Nasser Hospital and Al-Ahli Arab Hospital.
It stresses that hospitals and medical staff are protected by international law and that attacking them is a crime.
PNGO calls on the World Health Organization and all international bodies to work hard to protect the health system, including hospitals, medical staff and patients.
