The Palestinian NGOs Network strongly condemns the Israeli occupation's decision to close the crossings to allow humanitarian aid, including fuel, into the Gaza Strip as of this morning, "Sunday".
PNGO affirms that the occupation's decision comes within the framework of its crimes against humanity that it continues to commit against our Palestinian people, who have been subjected to a genocide, killing, destruction, starvation and deprivation of the most basic necessities of life.
PNGO warns of the serious repercussions of preventing the entry of aid into the Gaza Strip and restricting everyone's ability to respond to humanitarian needs, most notably health, food, and the provision of drinking water, among others, and stresses that all residents of the Gaza Strip depend on aid in its various sectors as a result of the occupation's systematic destruction of the economic and social structures in the Gaza Strip since the ongoing aggression and siege imposed by the occupation.
PNGO calls on all international parties to pressure the occupation to open the crossings and allow all the needs of the Gaza Strip to enter, most notably humanitarian aid. It also calls for holding the Israeli occupation and its leaders accountable for these crimes against humanity that the occupation continues to commit. PNGO also would remind all international parties that have signed the Geneva Conventions and the Genocide Convention that they have a duty to prevent, including taking all necessary measures to stop the genocide and stop committing war crimes and crimes against humanity.
PNGO calls on the international community to take urgent action to stop the policy of collective punishment and crimes against humanity that the occupying state continues to commit against defenseless civilians.
Further, it calls on the Arab Summit scheduled to be held in Cairo on March 4 to assume responsibility for stopping displacement plans and working to lift the unjust siege on the Gaza Strip in implementation of the decisions of previous summits.
Finally, PNGO calls on the Palestinian leadership in both the West Bank and the Gaza Strip to do everything possible to stop the policies of starvation and systematic killing of innocent people, children, women and the elderly, save the lives of the sick and wounded, support vulnerable groups and enable them to survive and remain steadfast.
