The Health Sector in the Palestinian NGOs Network Condemns the Occupation’s Crime of ‎Bombing the Al-Ahli Arab Baptist Hospital and Demands International Protection for the ‎Medical System

The health sector within the Palestinian NGOs Network strongly condemns the Israeli ‎occupation’s deliberate targeting and bombing of Al-Ahli Arab Baptist Hospital in Gaza City.‎

The health sector notes that the occupation bombed one of the buildings of the hospital, ‎which led to its destruction, caused extensive damage to other parts of the facility, and ‎forced the evacuation of patients and the wounded, thereby putting their lives at severe ‎risk and rendering the hospital out of service.‎

It confirms that this hospital had become the primary operational medical facility in Gaza ‎City, especially after the occupation targeted and destroyed Al-Shifa Medical Complex and ‎other hospitals across the city.‎

The health sector warns of the dire implications of the destruction of the Baptist Hospital ‎on the lives of patients and the wounded, especially in light of the ongoing Israeli ‎aggression and the escalating humanitarian catastrophe unfolding daily.‎

It emphasizes that the deliberate and systematic targeting by the occupation of the ‎healthcare sector, including medical personnel, hospitals, and medical centers in the ‎Gaza Strip, aims to deepen the health and humanitarian crisis facing the Palestinian ‎people, posing a serious threat to their lives and health conditions.‎

The health sector calls on the international community, including its humanitarian and ‎human rights organizations, to take urgent and serious action to stop the aggression and ‎protect the healthcare system in the Gaza Strip from destruction and annihilation.‎

It also calls for earnest efforts to hold the occupation accountable for its crimes against ‎civilians and civil organizations, especially hospitals.‎

Moreover, it urges immediate pressure to open the crossings and allow the entry of ‎humanitarian aid, including medicine and medical supplies, as well as to enable ‎thousands of patients and wounded individuals to receive treatment outside the Gaza ‎Strip. It also calls for the deployment of specialized medical teams to support ‎hospitals in Gaza.‎
