Al Mezan Center: Israel Escalates the Genocide and Kills 6 Palestinians within the Early Hours of Dawn

Al Mezan Center for Human Rights strongly condemns the continued systematic crimes committed by Israel in the persistent genocidal war on the Gaza Strip. In addition to the escalation of aerial bombardment of civilians by directly targeting them in the middle of the Strip, as well as the continued targeting of homes, tents, and civilian concentration areas. Furthermore, the center renews its call on the international community to act to protect civilians.

According to field information, 6 civilians were killed, and others were injured at around 01:51 a.m. on Saturday, April 11th, 2026, as a result of two consecutive Israeli airstrikes that targeted several Palestinians near the Abu Madeen mosque in Al-Barij camp in the center of the Gaza Strip. This resulted in the killing of 6 individuals: Mahammad Said, Ali Alshaqra, Mohammad Almabhouh, Mousa Saleh, Mohammad Almaqousi, and Saleem Maghari. They were transferred to Al-Awda and Shuhada Al-Aqsa hospitals in central Gaza, with most of the bodies severely mutilated and dismembered.

In the morning hours, an Israeli drone dropped a bomb on a tent sheltering displaced persons in the western Al-Raqab neighborhood in the town of Bani Suheila, east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, injuring 3 civilians. Israeli artillery shelling also continued on the eastern areas of Khan Younis and the Al-Tuffah neighborhood east of Gaza City.

Claire San Filippo, the emergency manager in Doctors Without Borders, stated “Six months on, the ceasefire has failed to end the genocide against Palestinians in Gaza, with Israeli authorities continuing to impose conditions intended to destroy conditions of life, Despite the reduction of the intensity of violence, Israeli attacks are continuous and the situation remains catastrophic, People’s needs are massive, yet the Israeli authorities have continued to systematically restrict the entry of humanitarian aid,”

The Israeli forces continue to target civilians across the Gaza Strip. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, hospitals in Gaza received 11 fatalities and 26 injuries as a result of airstrikes carried out over the past 48 hours. Raising the number of casualties since the ceasefire agreement signed in Sharm El-Sheikh and implemented on October 11, 2025, to 749 killed and 2,082 injured.

Issam Younis, Director of the Center, stated: “Those who feel safe from punishment act without restraint. The situation in Gaza is extremely dangerous amid the continued genocide against the Palestinian people for the third consecutive year, the ongoing killing of civilians, the destruction of remaining buildings, services, and infrastructure, continued starvation and deprivation of water, and the ongoing restriction on the entry of aid, medicines, and medical supplies. Those who ordered and carried out these crimes, from the government and the occupation army, remain free, evade accountability and justice, and continue committing crimes.”

Al Mezan Center for Human Rights reiterates its strong condemnation of the ongoing Israeli crimes, Including the targeting of houses, tents, and civilian gatherings, and continued artillery shelling of eastern areas of the Gaza Strip. It also emphasizes that the continuation of these crimes, despite the ceasefire being in effect, constitutes a continuation of the genocide. The Center warns that the continuation of this reality, amid international silence, encourages further crimes against civilians.

Accordingly, Al Mezan calls for the for urgent action by the international community to stop the ongoing genocide and attacks against Palestinians. open crossings, allow the entry of humanitarian aid, evacuate the sick and wounded, and end the inhumane conditions endured by Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
