Al Mezan Center: in Less Than 24 Hours: Israel Continues the Genocide, Killing 11 Palestinians and Injuring 29 Others

Al Mezan Center for Human Rights strongly condemns the continued systematic crimes committed by Israeli occupation forces in the context of the ongoing genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, as well as the escalation against civilians. This includes direct targeting through airstrikes on civilians in western Gaza, targeting a vehicle with an Israeli drone on Al-Nafaq Street in eastern Gaza City, and the continued targeting of homes, tents, and civilian gatherings. These attacks resulted in the killing of 11 Palestinians and the injury of 29 others within less than 24 hours.

According to the field information, (4) citizens were killed and others were injured at approximately 21:38 on Tuesday evening, 14/4/2026. as a result of an Israeli airstrike targeting a power generator near to a groupe of civilians close to Ghaben Cafe in Al-Shati refugee Camp, west of Gaza City, which resulted in the killing of Moatasem Baker, Sulaiman Baker, Ahmad Abu Hasira, and Abdullah Al-Lahham.

(A.M.), 37 years old, a displaced person in Al-Shati camp, stated: “I was sitting at home with my family when we heard two consecutive explosions, very close by. I went down to the street and found the strike had hit the house opposite of mine, separated only by a small street. Several neighbors had also come out to see what happened. It turned out that the occupation forces targeted a power generator belonging to the Bakr family with two missiles. There were several people lying on the ground next to the generator. I recognized some injured neighbors, and later it was confirmed that four of them had been killed.”

In another incident, four citizens, including a child, were killed and others injured at approximately 14:38 the same day, as a result of an Israeli airstrike targeting a vehicle belonging to the Palestinian police on Al-Nafaq Street in eastern Gaza City. The victims were: Saadi Al-Ghafri, Kamal Hijazi, Mohammed Kamal Abu Jaziya, and the child Yahya Al-Malhi, aged 3. Most of the bodies were severely dismembered.

Mukhlis Al-Malhi, the father of the killed child Yahya (3 years old), said: “We were near Al-Ghafri traffic light—my four siblings, two cousins, and my young son Yahya—heading to a wedding lunch for one of my cousins. When we reached the Tamraz junction with Al-Nafaq Street, we heard an explosion beside us. I looked and found my whole body covered in blood. My son Yahya was being carried by his uncle and had been hit in the neck. I saw people torn apart. I realized I was injured in my back and head, and then I found that my son had been killed.”

On the morning of Wednesday, 15/4/2026, a victim arrived at Al-Shifa Hospital from the Al-Alami area in Beit Lahia, north Gaza. Meanwhile, Israeli artillery shelling continued on the eastern areas of Khan Younis, as well as Al-Tuffah and Al-Shuja’iya neighborhoods, east Gaza City.

According to Palestinian Ministry of Health, the death toll has risen to (765), and (2140) injured since the ceasefire agreement signed in Sharm El-Sheikh came into effect on 11/10/2025.[1]

The humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip continues to deteriorate due to the ongoing obstruction to the entry of humanitarian aid into the Strip by the occupation forces, aid that is essential for survival, including materials for infrastructure repair and rubble removal, hygiene supplies, medicines and medical equipment, as well as tents and mobile homes. Recently, there has been a noticeable increase in the spread of external parasites, lice, scabies, rodents, and other pests in areas where displaced people are gathering. 80% of these overcrowded areas are affected by rodents and pests, while skin diseases have spread to approximately 48% of these areas.[2]

Al Mezan Center for Human Rights strongly condemns these ongoing Israeli crimes in the context of genocide, including targeting of civilians’ houses, tents and gatherings, continued artillery shelling on the eastern Gaza, blocking humanitarian aid, and causing harm to Palestinian civilians.

Accordingly, Al Mezan calls on the international community to take effective action and exert pressure on Israeli forces to halt all forms of military attacks against civilians and their properties, immediately and unconditionally open all crossings, allow the entry of humanitarian aid, fuel, medical equipment, and relief supplies, ensure their delivery to all areas without exception, guarantee the full and permanent opening of Rafah crossing, ensure freedom of movement for Palestinians—especially patients and the wounded—and enable them to return to the Gaza Strip.
