The Palestinian NGOs Network (PNGO) salutes the organizers of the Global Sumud Flotilla and warns against any attacks by the occupation forces against it.
The Global Sumud Flotilla consists of 54 ships carrying around 500 male and female activists from various nationalities.
The flotilla includes many activists, including academics, diplomats, human rights advocates, artists, athletes, members of parliament, media professionals, and activists in the civil society organizations.
This significant international initiative comes in the context of strong and determined international popular solidarity aimed at breaking the blockade on the Gaza Strip and exposing the aggressive practices against our people, including siege, settlement expansion, war crimes, crimes against humanity, and ethnic cleansing committed by the occupation forces against our people.
It should be noted that this flotilla reflects an unprecedented determination among international grassroots solidarity movements to confront the machinery of oppression, aggression, and abuse practiced by the occupation against our people, in blatant defiance of international law and human rights principles. It also aims to mobilize international will and move it out of its current state of silence and complicity by calling on the international community to impose sanctions on the occupying state, work toward its boycott and isolation until it complies with international law, lift the blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip, and provide international protection for the Palestinian people.
While the PNGO extends its salute to the organizers of the flotilla, it also warns against the possibility of the occupation navy intercepting the flotilla and abusing its participants, as happened with the previous flotilla. PNGO calls on the international community and countries possessing naval capabilities to act to protect these courageous activists, who represent the values of freedom and the conscience of humanity in the face of the brutality and barbarism reflected in the conduct of the occupation, and to ensure freedom of navigation to the Gaza Strip for the delivery of humanitarian aid.
We once again express our appreciation for the organizers of the Global Sumud Flotilla and call for the continued dispatch of ships and the mobilization of diverse actions in order to break the blockade on the Gaza Strip and end the occupation, leading to the realization of our established and legitimate rights as guaranteed under international law.
End.
