Local Physiotherapy Consultant, On Job Trainer
Union of Health Care Committees (UHCC) is a grassroots, community-based Palestinian Health organization and is non–governmental and non-profit making. It was established in 1985 by a group of Palestinian doctors and health professionals seeking to supplement the decayed and inadequate health infrastructure in Gaza Strip.
Union of Health Care Committees (UHCC) will implement “Rehabilitation and Reintegration for the Persons with Disabilities and Capacity Development for the Caregivers in Gaza Strip” project through partnership with Campaign for children of Palestine (CCP) and fund from Japan Platform (JPF)
The project is aimed to promote independence in people with disability or physical injuries without being left behind in society through: (1) improvements and prevention of deterioration in civilians, especially children and women, with disability and illness (2) Human resource development for supporting patients with disability and physical injuries(3) Provision of vocational training and promotion to participate in social activities for people with disability and patients with physical injuries.
UHCC seeks qualified candidate to fulfill the following vacancy:
Position title: Physiotherapy Consultant, On Job Trainer
Directly Reporting to: Project Coordinator
Location: Gaza City
Contract length: 10 months (from Dec 2018 to Sep 2019)
Summary Job Description:
The project involves the set-up of rehabilitation services on outreach and at rehab unit. The team will provide rehabilitation sessions to injured persons of 2014 Israel-Gaza conflict and persons with physical disabilities result from congenital disorders. The consultant will be supporting the medical teams and to realize an improved consideration for the services identified quality criteria.
The physiotherapy consultant will provide the following service:
- On the job training needs assessment and planning
- Conduct a participatory training needs assessment for the physiotherapists.
- Conduct 4-day physiotherapeutic skill training
- Conduct a pre and post training assessment to physiotherapists.
- Provide UHCC on the job coaching plan for the physiotherapists based on needs assessment conclusions.
- Identify the training needs and priorities for each physiotherapist.
- Conduct a mid-term update on the training needs assessment.
Requirements
1-At least Bachelor degree in physiotherapy
2-Good Knowledge and skills of coaching and training of professionals, previous experience of “on the job training” is preferable.
3-Good understanding and application of adult learning methods
4-At least Five years of relevant work experience, preferable in the field of outreach or rehab unit base rehabilitation sitting and education in physiotherapy.
5-Good understanding of disability social model and rights based approach
6-Willingness to travel to the field
7-Excellent communication skills
8-Good organizational skills
9-Ability to work under pressure and within a team
10-Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines
11-Positive, innovative, inspirational and problem solving attitude
12-Excellent skills in English (writing)
