Accountant – Part-time (60%)

Women’s Affairs Center (WAC) is an independent and non-profit Palestinian NGO with the purpose of advocating women’s rights and gender equality through Empowering Women, Information and Research, and Advocacy and Outreach programs. In implementing its strategy to fulfill its vision, WAC is guided by international human rights principles, including empowerment and participation; equality and non-discrimination; and accountability to ensure justice and dignity for women

WAC is set to implement a project in Gaza, funded by Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP). The project, titled "Enhancing Access to Safe and Inclusive Life-Saving Protection Services for Conflict-Affected Women and Girls in Gaza," aims to ensure that survivors and individuals at risk of gender-based violence (GBV) in Gaza have increased access to prevention, response, and remedial services tailored to their individual needs. Through this project, they will be equipped with the skills, means, and resources necessary to reduce further exposure to harm.

Positions Available:

 

Accountant – Part-time (60%)

Location: Al Mawasi, Khan Younis, Gaza Strip

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and reconcile all bank statements for the project accounts
  • Monitor the project expenditure plan and generate relevant financial reports
  • Participate in the monthly accounting close, ensuring timely and accurate completion
  • Review accounting transactions entered into the accounting software and all relevant supporting documents
  • Ensure full supporting documentation for all transactions, in compliance with WAC's and donor's policies and procedures
  • Produce accurate financial reports for donors, in accordance with WAC’s and donors’ policies and regulations
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations to ensure account accuracy
  • Perform any additional tasks as assigned by the Project Coordinator

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English and Arabic
