Teacher Creativity Center “Hand in Hand Toward the Summit” Initiative Launched at Beit Iksa Girls Secondary School

Beit Iksa Girls Secondary School launched its educational initiative “Hand in Hand Toward the Summit”, under the supervision of teacher Asmaa Zayed and school counselor Haya Salman. The initiative is part of the “Safe Access to Inclusive Education, Dignity, and Protection Services for Children in Emergencies” project, implemented by Teacher Creativity Center (TCC) in partnership with World Vision and funded by the European Union.

The first meeting of the initiative was held with parents to introduce the concept of social emotional learning (SEL) and emphasize their vital role as partners in supporting teachers and fostering students’ emotional well-being and academic progress. The session outlined the targeted student group, scheduled activities, and emphasized the importance of family-school collaboration in creating a safe and supportive learning environment.

Discussions also addressed documentation procedures, parental consent, and the family’s role in reinforcing daily academic engagement and promoting values of belonging and care among students. The meeting had a positive engagement from parents, who expressed full readiness to participate and support the initiative.

This activity is one of many under this project, which targets 61 public schools across the West Bank and serves as a comprehensive model for integrating psychosocial support and protection services into the educational system to promote student well-being and inclusive learning.
