Field Monitor

The Palestinian Al Nakheel Association for Progress and Development (Al Nakheel) is an independent NGO, Established in Khan Younis in 1998, the Association works across Food Security, WASH, Shelter & Non-Food Items, and Agricultural Development, serving vulnerable communities across the Gaza Strip

Al Nakheel is looking for candidates for the following position - Field Monitor (FM)

 Job Title: Field Monitor

Contract Type: 10 months – Full time.

Location: Al Nakheel office - Khan Younis.

Application Deadline: 20 August 2025

Starting Date: As Soon As Possible.

She/he will be reporting directly to Project Coordinator (PC)

Project Overview:

In partnership with Catholic Relief Services (CRS), Al Nakheel is implementing project " Emergency Shelter and Livelihoods Support to Vulnerable and Crisis-Affected Households in Gaza” project, funded by Islamic Relief USA (IRUSA), The project will provide emergency shelter support, including basic Emergency Shelter Kits (ESKs), tarpaulins, and Cash-for-Work (CfW) opportunities for workers, to address their needs and support the achievement of the project objectives

  1. Conflict-affected families meet their immediate, emergency shelter needs
  2. Conflict-affected families in Gaza meet their basic needs.

Project Targeted Area: Middle Area, Khan Younis and Rafah, and subject to changed security context

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Collect and verify data required for project implementation, in coordination with the Project Coordinator.
  • Supervise, monitor, and track project activities in assigned areas.
  • Engage with local communities to communicate project objectives.
  • Participate in satisfaction and feedback meetings, record data electronically, and submit reports.
  • Conduct regular field visits to beneficiaries.
  • Identify potential challenges and propose solutions.
  • Contact beneficiaries via phone or in person for data verification.
  • Document all stages of project implementation.
  • Support tasks assigned by the lead team and CRS related to project activities.

Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Coordinator

Qualification and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, Sociology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years’ relevant experience, preferably in humanitarian assistance, shelter, and CfW projects.
  • Strong multi-tasking and time management skills.
  • Proven experience in preparing progress reports.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in diverse, multicultural teams.
  • Familiarity with local operational and cultural contexts.
  • Commitment to safeguarding principles, “Do No Harm” approach, and confidentiality standards.
