MA’AN Development Center Implements Development Interventions in the Jordan Valley with a Budget Exceeding USD 3.5 Million

 

MA’AN Development Center implemented a series of integrated development interventions across Palestinian Jordan Valley communities during the period 2020–2025, aiming to strengthen community resilience and improve essential services in the sectors of Education, Health, WASH, Shelter, Socio-economic Empowerment, Agriculture, and PSS (Psychosocial Support). The total budget allocated to these interventions amounted to USD 3,510,612.

In the Education Sector, MA’AN carried out the rehabilitation and maintenance of 25 schools, constructed new educational facilities, and supplied schools with furniture and educational equipment, benefiting more than 3,600 students. The total budget for this sector reached USD 824,100.

In the Health Sector, the center rehabilitated and maintained three health clinics, established a Maternal and Childhood Center, and constructed an additional floor in Al-Auja, with a budget of USD 212,000, benefiting approximately 6,900 people.

Within the WASH Sector, MA’AN extended drinking water networks and improved access to safe water for households in several communities. These interventions were implemented with a budget of USD 82,000 and benefited 1,177 people.

In the Shelter Sector, the center rehabilitated and constructed housing units for vulnerable families, including the rehabilitation of 295 homes and the construction of 105 new houses, with a budget of USD 1,620,000, benefiting 2,400 individuals.

MA’AN also implemented Socio-economic Empowerment programs aimed at enhancing livelihoods and employment opportunities through women’s training and support for income-generating projects. The budget allocated to this sector amounted to USD 442,000.

In the Agriculture Sector, the center contributed to land rehabilitation, agricultural road construction, the provision of agricultural inputs, and food security interventions for vulnerable households, with a budget of USD 269,512.

In the PSS Sector, MA’AN implemented training programs and community activities designed to enhance children’s psychosocial well-being and life skills. These activities were carried out with a budget of USD 61,000 and benefited 656 children.

Building on these achievements, MA’AN Development Center plans to implement a new package of development interventions during 2025–2028 with a total budget of USD 2,793,761, distributed across the Education Sector (USD 674,000), Health Sector (USD 410,000), WASH Sector (USD 59,541), Agriculture Sector (USD 220,220), Economic and Social Empowerment Sector (USD 1,700,000), and PSS Sector (USD 90,000), contributing to sustainable development and improved quality of life in Palestinian Jordan Valley communities.
