Field Coordinator 

The Palestinian Al Nakheel Association for Progress and Development (Al Nakheel) is an independent non-governmental organization established in Khan Younis in 1998. The Association works across the sectors of Food Security, WASH, Shelter and Non-Food Items, and Agricultural Development, serving vulnerable communities throughout the Gaza Strip.

Al Nakheel is seeking qualified candidates for the following position:

Position Information

Job Title: Field Coordinator 
Location: Al Nakheel Office / Field Sites
Contract Type: Full-time for 3 months
Reporting To: Project Coordinator
Starting Date: As soon as possible

Project Overview:

Al Nakheel is planning to implement WASH interventions in Khan Younis and other targeted field locations, with a focus on solid waste management and emergency water trucking. The project aims to improve access to essential WASH services for vulnerable and displaced communities, reduce public health risks, and support safer living conditions in affected areas. 

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Oversee the overall implementation, coordination, and quality assurance of WASH project activities, with specific focus on solid waste managementand water trucking.
  • Supervise and support project staff at both administrative and technical levels.
  • Monitor activity progress and ensure compliance with donor requirements, project timelines, and organizational procedures.
  • Conduct regular field visits to verify proper implementation and address operational challenges.
  • Prepare periodic narrative and progress reports in coordination with the Executive Director and relevant partners.
  • Monitor and evaluate project results and provide timely updates and reports to the donor.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and an organized filing system for all project-related records and materials.
  • Coordinate and participate in data collection, assessments, and project monitoring processes.
  • Document and share project achievements, lessons learned, and success stories.
  • Track project expenditures in coordination with the finance team and ensure spending remains aligned with the approved budget.
  • Perform any other relevant duties as assigned by Al Nakheel management.

Qualification and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible experience in a similar role.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with NGOs.
  • Proven experience in WASH projects, particularly solid waste management and/or emergency water trucking.
  • Strong report writing and communication skills in English and Arabic.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel).
  • Strong interpersonal and team-building skills, with cultural sensitivity.
  • Good understanding of the operational and cultural context in Gaza.
