Gaza Community Mental Health Programme Finalized a Workshop on psychodrama


The Training and Research Department of GCMHP finalized a supervision workshop on Psychodrama. The participants were 18 professionals from GCMHP and other partner organizations including the Culture and Free Thought Association, Islamic Relief, Palestinian Medical Relief Society, El-Wedad Society for Community Rehabilitation, and Aisha Association for Women and Child Protection, in addition to the presence of Ms. Rawya Hamam, Director of the Training and Research Department, and Ms. Ensa Jouda, Head of Training and Capacity Building Unit at GCMHP. This training was conducted by Swiss experts, Dr. Ursula Hauser, Dr. Maja Hess, and Ms. Silvia Staub from the Medico International in Switzerland, and it took place at Gaza Community Center.


The five- day training, with a total of 25 training hours, was divided into two parts: adults' psychodrama and children's psychodrama.


Throughout the five-day training, the trainers presented practical exercises used with adults and children, discussed the challenges trainees faced, and selected their answers through applying the various psychodrama techniques. In addition, the training included follow up for the children groups, conducting field supervision visits to the adults' psychodrama and children's groups at El-Wedad Society for Community Rehabilitation, Aisha Association for Women and Child Protection and Palestinian Medical Relief Society.


At the end of the training, Ms. Hamam and Ms. Jouda distributed certificates on the trainees, and they handed gifts and appreciation certificates for the trainers.
