Within The Framework of "Promoting Employment among Youth in the Gaza Strip” Project, Women's Affairs Center Ends Training Course for Graduates

Women's Affairs Center in Gaza has ended a series of training courses on technical skills in the field of information technology. The 40-hour training was carried out over a period of 14 days, with the participation of 40 graduates from the North of Gaza and Gaza City.

This training comes within the framework of "Promoting Employment among Youth in the Gaza Strip” project funded by the Danish and Norwegian Church Aid Foundation (DCA \ NCA).

Reem Al Nairab, Small Projects Coordinator at the Center, mentioned that the main objective of the project is to build the graduates' abilities and skills in the field of ICT and e-marketing through technical training; she also said that graduates were employed for two months in around 20 companies and institutions of the private sector.

Al Nairab stressed that this project is a unique experience to provide opportunities for young Palestinian graduates in the private labor market, noting that it is a new and distinct approach to create more e-working opportunities as a means to break the ongoing blockade on the Gaza Strip.

The training addressed various topics in the field of IT, such as graphic design, e-marketing, website design and development, and development of Android and IPhone Smartphones, in addition to 10 hours of training on communication skills, the art of negotiation and dialogue, email writing, and skills of working within a team.

The participants agreed that the training provided them with lots of technological and practical skills, stressing that these skills would positively affect their practical lives that would, in turn, enable them to be strongly engaged in the labor market.
