GCMHP Unit of Projects has held a technical meeting to assess and develop a proposal for a new Sports for Smile project.

The Programme has already implemented a Sport for smile project in collaboration with the GIZ, and now is formulating a new proposal, using the lessons learnt, to initiate a new phase of the same project.

The meeting included Mr Qusai Abu Odei, Head of the Project Unit, Ms Inas Juda, Head of Training and Capacity building Unit, and 7 coaches from 4 different clubs which participated in the implementation of the project.

The attendees discussed improving several aspects of the psychosocial interventions provided through the project. They also discussed some recommendations that including developing the capacities of the coaches so they can deal with children’s and adolescents’ psychological challenges and their behavioural problems.

In addition, they discussed new suggestions regarding the provision of professional supervision and parental involvement.
