PNGO Discusses Its Sectors Plans for the Next Three Years

 


The Palestinian NGO Network (PNGO Network) held a workshop to discuss the strategic plans of the six sectors that work under its umbrella.


Organizations officials and representatives discussed the sectors strategic plans, during a session entitled "Discussing the strategic plans of the sectors of the NGO network", within the "Project for Promoting Democracy and NGOs Capacity Building", with the Norwegian People's Aid (NBA).


Mr. Amjad Al-Shawa, PNGO Gaza director, opened the session by pointing out that the strategic plans aim to develop the sectors within the vision of the network, to promote the, and to improve their mechanisms, coordination, and networking between them and other frameworks.


Al-Shawa pointed out that the members of the sectors worked together to develop strategic plans for each of the six sectors affiliated with the network, for the next three years, and to implement it in2020.


In turn, the coordinator of the coordinating body of the network in the Gaza Strip, Tayseer Muheisen, explained that the network coordinating body looks with great interest to the role of sectors and their strategic directions for the coming period to advance the role of civil organizations in all levels, especially enhancing citizens' resilience in facing the significant challenges they face.


The network seeks, through its vision, to reach a civil society that is free, democratic, and liberated from occupation, based on social justice, respect for human rights, and the rule of law, he pointed out. Furthermore, its mission is based on a national and development vision to protect the independence of civil work, enable it, and enhance its role in the national struggle And democratic building, through influencing public opinion and national plans, deepening coordination, networking and community participation, mobilizing the energies of the private sector, based on the values of social justice, the rule of law, human protection, and the preservation of human dignity.



For his part, Basel Nasser, consultant, presented the details of the sectors plans, indicating that the goal is a systematic objective evaluation and analysis of the sectors within PNGO network. This includes studying and analyzing the fields of the sectors' work, identifying the strengths and weaknesses of each sector, the challenges it faces, the available opportunities, and the potentials for its investments.


He also presented the strategic plan of each sector, foremost of which is the impact on governmental public policies, national plans, and the funders agenda. Furthermore, contributing to raising the efficiency and capabilities of qualified member organizations in the sectors to continue and sustain service provision according to a human rights-based approach. Also, to enhance participatory and exchange of knowledge and resources available effectively among members of the sectors.
