Bayader for Environment & Development (Bayader) is a non – government organization established in 2007 aiming to develop the Palestinian community and society in child protection & education, development and institution building, community development, economic empowerment & civic participation and emergency response & early recovery.

Job summary: 

Bayader in partnership with Catholic Relief Services CRS, starts to implement Envision Gaza 2020 Project (USAID-funded project) which aims to support Palestinian families in Gaza become more resilient to everyday stresses and rebound more quickly from crises, including COVID-19. by (1) providing basic humanitarian assistance to extremely vulnerable households in the form of food and non-food items, and (2) connecting unemployed participants with on-the-job training opportunities with host employers. This includes 3-month unskilled or low-skilled workers placements and/or 4-month internships or apprenticeships for skilled university or vocational graduates, respectively.

Bayader is seeking highly skilled staff to be hired for the following position:

Position Title: Project Manager (PM)

Place: Bayader Office, Khan Younis

Reports To: Executive Director 

Period: 6 Months

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the overall management of the project, including timely implementation, budget management, staff management, capacity building, and staff career development
  • Effectively supervise the Project Coordinators, Field Monitors and MEAL Monitor.
  • Coordinate all activities related to the project, including procurement, community mobilization, beneficiary selection and employer relationship management.
  • Provide technical oversight to Livelihood and Humanitarian Assistance activities.
  • Monitor all aspects of the project, including implementation and expenditures.
  • Utilize monitoring and evaluation tools to measure project outputs and impact.
  • Maintain adequate administration and filing systems.
  • Write reports in a timely manner.
  • Ensure Program Quality standards.
  • Ensure accountability to project beneficiaries and local stakeholders.
  • Actively identify opportunities for innovation and project adaptation to improve impact.
  • Take part in regular team, program and staff meetings.
  • Ensure the timely implementation of all Performance Management steps, including Performance Development Plans, Coaching, and Performance Appraisals.
  • Ensure compliance with CRS policies and procedures, including those of administration, procurement and finance.
  • Ensure compliance with donor-specific regulations.
  • Perform any other tasks and duties as necessary throughout the life of the program.

Qualification and Experience:

  • University degree in international Development, Business Administration, Economics, Sociology, or related field.
  • Minimum Five years of progressively responsible work experience in the field of development, preferably with USAID-funded projects. Significant experience working on humanitarian assistance, livelihoods projects required.
  • Demonstrated strengths in relationship management; able to work with diverse groups of people in multicultural, team-oriented environment.
  • Understands and works with local contexts (operational and cultural).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – fluency in English and Arabic (written and spoken) essential. Demonstrated skills in writing high quality English-language reports required.
  • MS Office applications, Word, Excel, Power Point, Spread sheets and other Statistical software. 
  • Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Strong supervisory skills.
  • Understands and works with local contexts (operational and cultural).
