Community Media Center organized the screening of a documentary presenting the story of one of the Palestinian women who face critical political, economic, social and psychological conditions as a result of the repeated aggressions on the Gaza Strip. This story was filmed and directed by a female director and photographer who faced the same circumstances. More than 200 people were present at the documentary’s screening. 

This screening is part of an initiative of CMC, in cooperation with Al-Isra University, the Right to Life Association, and the Youth House for Culture and Development. Kholoud Al-Sawalmeh, Project Manager at CMC, said: "We are implementing women’s and youth rights films’ publication in 2022 in partnership with EMBARK, an initiative of CARE International." She added, "During the screenings we present three documentaries, which were produced by women and young directors, under the supervision and follow-up of the CMC."

In a related context, Andaleeb Adwan, Director of CMC, explained that the films that are shown express the rights of women and youth during wars and conflicts, and address the violations of these rights.

Adwan added: "Documentaries are one of the tools used to pressure decision and policy makers at the local as well as the international level, to draw their attention to the need to address the problems and issues of citizens and implement their basic rights, especially the protection of women’s rights during conflict as stated in UN Security Council Resolution (1325)."
