Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator

Unlimited Friends Association for Development, a social, developmental and educational charity whose idea arose in 2000 through its sense of social, educational and developmental responsibility towards the Palestinian families. Following many community activities carried out and achieved socially by the Association with self-efforts in the field work, the Association's concept has been expanded and developed until it was approved in 2003 by the Charitable Associations and Nongovernmental Organizations Act No. 1 of 2000 and its Executive Regulations.

Overall Responsibility

Under the supervision of the Chairman of the Board, (50%) Part time  the monitoring and evaluation coordinator will be responsible for the following, and comprehensive evaluation of the Association’s projects in the Gaza Strip and transfer the relevant indicators and measures to assess the inclusive impact of these projects using its follow-up approach, professional evaluation and techniques and reports based on the overall strategy and requirements of the Association.  

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Develops a monitoring and evaluation system (M&E) for use in all UFA projects, and ensure consistency with the overall policy and framework for monitoring and evaluation (called project quality standards), including those developed by major international NGOs and donors.
  • Takes the lead in implementing monitoring and evaluation systems for UFA projects.
  • Provide leadership and coordination in the designation, documentation, monitoring and evaluation of new and ongoing UFA project activities for the purpose of meeting related standards for all relevant stakeholders.
  • Advise project staff to ensure the efficiency, effectiveness, relevance, accuracy and feasibility of their projects.
  • Monthly produce monitoring reports for all projects.
  • Contribute to the dissemination of the results of monitoring, evaluation and feedback in the planning of future projects and programmers, including the preparation of special reports and lessons learned materials.
  • Provide recommendations to UFA project managers to modify project approaches and strategies.
  • Ensure that grant-funded projects comply with donors' monitoring and evaluation requirements for performance measurement and reporting.
  • Ensure, with UFA project staff, that all proposals contain appropriate provisions for monitoring and acquisition.
  • Ensure that project staff are trained on the monitoring and evaluation system.
  • Fulfill any other relevant responsibilities in accordance with the functional requirements.
  • Other tasks assigned to him by the Direct Officer commensurate with his capabilities and skills.
  • Responsible for implementing the Association's complaints system.

Required qualifications and experiences

Experience / Education / Skills _ basic

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and preferred a master’s degree in community development, organizational development (OD), management, or development studies.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in project management, monitoring, and evaluation preferably in international NGOs.

Familiar with:

  • The operational characteristics, services and activities of project management.
  • The modern and complex principles and practices of project monitoring and evaluation.
  • The theory, principles and practices of project management and its application to a wide range of project transactions and problems.
  • The standard principles and practices of project cycle management.
  • The principles and practices of project budget and reporting.
  • The principles of supervision, training and performance evaluation.

Ability to

  • Manage and coordinate the work of Professional staff.
  • Select, supervise, train and evaluate staff.
  • Interpret and explain monitoring and evaluation policies and procedures.
  • Analyze and interpret official policies and guidelines.
  • Design and install monitoring and evaluation systems.

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
