 About the Organization:

BASMA Society for Culture and Arts, also known as BASMA, was established in 1991 and officiallyregistered as a local NGO in 2006 by the Ministry of Interior (Registration No. 7591). As a Palestinian non-profit organization, BASMA aims to invigorate the Palestinian cultural movement through a range of high-quality interactive arts, cultural, social, and psychological support programs, as well as skills development activities. Specializing in theater, drama, and psychological and social support, BASMA operates in the field of culture and the arts. Its primary objective is to contribute to the development of Palestinian society by offering cultural, educational, recreational, and psychological support initiatives tailored to various social segments and Persons with Disabilities (PwDs). BASMA's programs and projects are designed to benefit Palestinian children, youth, women, and PwDs. These programs encompass courses and campaigns advocating for the rights of marginalized groups andPwDs, psychosocial support programs, and resources such as the "DEAL" guides. BASMA also engages in youth empowerment programs, including the "Dunia al-Shabab" radio initiative, as well asactivities to promote volunteerism and encourage youth initiatives for community service. Additionally, BASMA provides training programs to enhance the skills of employees in the technical aspects of acting, directing, and scriptwriting, thereby building their capacity in these fields.

Project Overview:

BASMA is launching a new project titled "Enhancing the Effectiveness of Drama Extracurricular Activities in North Gaza Government Schools through the Gaza Juniors Theater Club". This project aims to provide drama education and extracurricular activities to students in government schools, fostering their creativity, critical thinking, and self-confidence. The project team works on promoting School-Based Teaching and Learning Excellence in North Gaza at Accessing Quality Education based on Children Puppet Theater and Drama in 2023-2024.

Position Overview:

We at Basma are looking for a professional photographer who has a great passion for the art of photography. We are seeking to collaborate with a skilled photographer who possesses excellent skills in the media field and has the ability to document and follow up on all project activities in a professional manner. Therefore, at Basma, we are interested in hiring a skilled photographer on a part-time basis who has the necessary skills to achieve this excellently.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Conducting 560 professional photography sessions with high-quality results.
  2. Creating 110 promotional videos (2 minutes each), through careful preparation and production.
  3. Skilfully capturing and videorecording two theater performances with superior quality, expertly editing, and compiling full films for each show.
  4. Filming the closing film for project activities to capture the essence of the event.
  5. Undertaking any other photography-related tasks as required by project coordinator.
  6. Utilizing appropriate editing software to edit and enhance both photos and videos.
  7. Innovating and exploring new creative ideas and techniques in photography to elevate the final outcomes.
  8. Maintaining and caring for photography equipment, regularly updating it as necessary.
Qualifications:
  1. Possesses a diploma degree in journalism and media or a related field.
  2. Demonstrates a minimum of 5 years of experience in professional photography and videography.
  3. Proficient in video and photo editing software, with at least 3 years of experience and familiarity with various computer programs.
  4. Experienced in working with the Ronin camera stabilization system.
  5. Displays artistic and creative proficiency in both video shooting and editing.
  6. Skilled in operating modern cameras and audio devices.
  7. Capable of working efficiently under pressure and managing time effectively.
  8. Adaptable to accommodate feedback and modification requests from the project team and donor.
