The health sector of PNGO calls for urgent international intervention to protect the health ‎system in the northern Gaza Strip

The Palestinian NGOs Network (PNGO) health sector strongly condemns the escalating ‎crimes of the Israeli occupation against the health system in the northern Gaza Strip.‎

The health sector in PNGO refers to the Israeli occupation storming of Kamal Adwan ‎Hospital, the forcible evacuation of the sick and wounded, and targeting of medical staff, ‎which led to the death of five of them and the destruction of hospital facilities. The director ‎of Al-Awda Hospital in Tal Al-Zaatar and six medical staff were also injured by the ‎detonation of robot inside the hospital, along with the forcible evacuation of the ‎Indonesian hospital and the arrest of a number of medical staff and patients.‎

PNGO health sector pointed out the blockade imposed by the occupation on the northern ‎Gaza Strip, especially on hospitals for more than eighty days, where the entry of supplies ‎of medicine, food, water and fuel is prohibited, which has exacerbated the health situation ‎in the northern Gaza Strip.‎

PNGO network stresses that the Israeli occupation seeks by targeting hospitals to destroy ‎what remains of the necessities of life in the northern Gaza Strip, within the framework of ‎the crimes of genocide committed against civilians and civil institutions.‎

PNGO recalls the Israeli occupation during the past months in targeting hospitals and the ‎medical system, and the massacres committed by the Israeli occupation in Al-Shifa ‎Hospital, Nasser Hospital and Al-Ahli Arab Hospital.‎

It stresses that hospitals and medical staff are protected by international law and that ‎attacking them is a crime.‎

PNGO calls on the World Health Organization and all international bodies to work hard to ‎protect the health system, including hospitals, medical staff and patients.‎
