Position Title: Medical / Biomedical Researcher

 

 

Assignment Title: Baseline Study for Noor Program - Health Care Services for Orphans of the 2023-2024 Attack on Gaza, Year 1

 

 

Location:  Gaza Strip

 

 

Duration: 30 Days (1 May 2025 – 1 Jun 2025)

 

Background:

 

 

The Noor Program, implemented by the Palestinian Medical Relief Society (PMRS) and supported by Taawon, aims to provide comprehensive healthcare services to orphans affected by the 2023-2024 attacks on Gaza- Year 1. The program includes general medical examinations, laboratory tests (sugar levels, CBC, liver, and kidney functions), and specialized health care for 5,333 orphans.

To evaluate program performance and inform future improvements, PMRS seeks a qualified Medical / Biomedical Researcher to conduct a baseline study using quantitative and qualitative tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze program data using appropriate statistical tools.
  • Develop a detailed study report, including introduction, methodology, results, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Evaluate the healthcare services provided and suggest program improvements.
  • Present the initial findings to Taawon for feedback and incorporate necessary revisions.
  • Submit a final, approved version of the study.

Deliverables:

  • Comprehensive data analysis and interpretation.
  • Study report with supporting figures and tables.
  • Strategic roadmap for the program future direction.

Qualifications:

  • A -master degree or higher in medical, health, or biomedical science. 
  • proficiency in SPSS, Excel, and other statistical tools.
  • A track record or publishing at least 10 articles as first or corresponding author within the last three years as first or corresponding author.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in conducting qualitative research.
  • Excellent writing in both English and Arabic languages.
  • Demonstrate experience working as part of a research team.
  • Experience working within research teams and applying research ethics.

Competencies:

  • Strong awareness of gender considerations, disabilities, poverty, and other factors affecting child health and parenting dynamics.
  • Excellent communication skills and sensitivity to diverse populations.
  • Knowledge of child protection policies and ethical research practices.

Payment Schedule:

  • 40% upon completion of data analysis and preliminary findings.
  • 60% upon submission and acceptance of the final report.

Evaluation Process:

  2. Cost proposal (financial quotation) – 40%.
