Atfaluna Society for Deaf Children has carried out a series of capacity-building trainings as part of the project: “Enabling a Disability- Inclusive and Equitable International Response in OPT,” implemented in partnership with UN Women and funded by the GDF.
The trainings were conducted by and for persons with disabilities, ensuring meaningful leadership and active participation of people with diverse disabilities.
The trainings covered two key areas. The first on Advocacy and Monitoring, aimed at strengthening the capacity of participants to defend their rights, engage in policy dialogue, and push for greater inclusion of persons with disabilities in decision-making spaces. The second focused on Psychological First Aid and provided participants with practical tools to cope with stress and support their peers during crises.
Atfaluna reaffirms its commitment to advancing the rights of persons with disabilities, promoting their agency, and ensuring that inclusivity is not an exception but a fundamental principle.
This effort forms part of Atfaluna’s ongoing advocacy to guarantee that persons with disabilities are recognized as active agents of change and central partners in building a just, accessible, and inclusive society.
