Field Coordinator
The Palestinian Al Nakheel Association for Progress and Development (Al Nakheel) is an independent non-governmental organization established in Khan Younis in 1998. The Association works across the sectors of Food Security, WASH, Shelter and Non-Food Items, and Agricultural Development, serving vulnerable communities throughout the Gaza Strip.
Al Nakheel is seeking qualified candidates for the following position:
Position Information
Job Title: Field Coordinator
Location: Al Nakheel Office / Field Sites
Contract Type: Full-time for 5 months
Reporting To: Project Coordinator
Starting Date: As soon as possible

Project Overview
Al Nakheel is planning to implementing the project: “Emergency WASH Response in Khan Younis.” The main project activities include:
- Solid waste management through Cash-for-Work (CfW)
- Water trucking
- Hygiene promotion
- Rehabilitation of the sewage network to mitigate flooding
Project Target Area: Khan Younis, subject to the prevailing security context.
The Field Coordinators will support the implementation and monitoring of WASH activities, with responsibilities including:
- Supervising field implementation of water trucking and wastewater/stormwater network rehabilitation activities in targeted areas.
- Coordinating with municipalities, CMWU, water service providers, contractors, site focal points, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Monitoring daily field activities to ensure quality, timeliness, and compliance with technical standards.
- Verifying water delivery points, quantities delivered, trucking schedules, and water source compliance.
- Monitoring rehabilitation works, including sewer line jetting, cleaning of manholes and drainage channels, and removal of blockages, debris, and sediment.
- Conducting regular field visits and identifying operational or technical gaps requiring follow-up.
- Maintaining accurate field records, activity logs, photos, and supporting documentation.
- Assisting in data collection, reporting, and progress tracking against approved plans and schedules.
- Supporting community communication, including receiving field-level complaints and feedback.
- Performing any other project-related duties assigned by the Project Coordinator or Al Nakheel management.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or water resources any other related field
- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in humanitarian programs with NGOs.
- Proven ability to work directly with communities and promote inclusive participation, especially of women.
- Strong reporting and documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and respond flexibly to changing needs.
- Strong diplomacy, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to gender sensitivity and equal opportunity principles.
- Excellent communication and cross-cultural coordination skills.
- Fluency in Arabic; working knowledge of English is desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and GIS applications.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and database management.
