Wefaq Society for Woman & Child Care, established in 2010, is an independent, non-profit Palestinian women's society with license N. (1095). From 1996 to 2009, Wefaq Organization for Woman and Child Protection operated under the mandate of the Gaza Mental Health Project

It serves groups in Gaza, with a focus on the southern Gaza Strip, particularly the governorates of Rafah and eastern Khan Yunis

About the project:

The project Strengthening Palestinian young people, particularly young women’s leadership and influence for resilient, just and green societies. comes within the Strategic Partnership Program, in partnership with ActionAid-Palestine and funded by the Danish International Development Agency The project includes efforts and strategies to enable young women and men to lead and effectively represent and participate in humanitarian work. n in decision-making in humanitarian work at the local, national and international levels. The project also contributes to strengthening the resilience of the most vulnerable groups of women and girls by providing psychosocial support services and legal assistance to survivors of gender-based violence in Rafah Governorate and investing in the national referral system. The Wefaq Society for Women and Child Care announces the need to fill a full-time position for a Youth and Networking Inspirator to work with young women and men within the project "Strengthening Palestinian Youth, particularly Young Women’s Leadership and Influence for Resilient, Just, and Green Societies", part of the Strategic Partnership Program in partnership with ActionAid Palestine, funded by the Danish International Development Agency

The key responsibilities areas for this position are as follows:

  • Provide mentorship for young people who have attended trainings at the Action Aid Global platform
  • Mentor and support young people in their creative campaigning and organizing efforts at the Action Aid Global platform youth hubs
  • Support specific learning and campaign activities coordinated by ActionAid or the Action Aid Global platformParticipate in knowledge sharing networks like the Global Inspirator Learning network Cross-country knowledge exchange initiatives
  • Personal training and development through induction courses and other training opportunities
  • Coordinating with clusters and relevant stakeholders for youth engagement and their participation in meetings
  • Communicate with relevant stakeholders to conduct meetings with the youth and women committees to share and discuss their operationalized plans
  • Increase the partner organizations capacities in case of any need
  • Support women and youth committees to update their protection, preparedness and response plans -operational plans based on the problem analysis and people needs
  • Increase the women and youth committees Knowledge, tools and skills about youth leadership in emergencies, risk analysis participatory planning, teamwork, and conflict management, networking, presentation and facilitation skills, designing and implementing community-based initiatives and other needed capacities
  • Support women and youth committees to design and develop their community-based initiatives and raise their capacity to identify their communities’ priorities
  • Link the women and youth committees with other existing women and young people groups, organizations and alliances at local and national levels
  • Networking with international groups and committees to share experience

Eligible applicants are required to have the following qualifications and skills: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in humanities, business administration, Development Studies, Management, Or any related filed
  • Very good experience in work with youth groups (At least 4 years)
  • Good coaching and mentoring skills
  • Good experience in delivering capacity building trainings
  • Able to support the development of community level action and initiatives
  • Ability to design and lead creative youth activities
  • Excellent mobilization and organizing skills
  • Very good advocacy and campaigning skill
  • Excellent mobilization and organizational skills
  • A great level of an awareness of the Palestinian context
  • Fluent in written reports and spoken English and Arabic
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and representation skills
  • Proficient understanding of the resilience principles within the field of humanitarian efforts
  • Demonstrated commitment to work with the youth and colleagues in an equal and respectful manner where shared learning is essential
  • Good knowledge about the humanitarian structure in Palestine
  • Good skills in networking and building alliances
