Women’s Affairs Center (WAC) is an independent and non-profit Palestinian NGO with the purpose of advocating women’s rights and gender equality through Empowering Women, Information and Research, and Advocacy and Outreach programs. In implementing its strategy to fulfill its vision, WAC is guided by international human rights principles, including empowerment and participation; equality and non-discrimination; and accountability to ensure justice and dignity for women

WAC implements the project "Improving access of vulnerable women and adolescent girls to high-quality, safe, and inclusive services related to protection from gender-based violence and harmful practices in Gaza governorates," funded by UNFPA. The project aims to reduce GBV and harmful practices by providing essential services and empowering women and girls across Gaza. It focuses on addressing issues such as child/early/forced marriage, offering multisectoral support, promoting gender equality, women's empowerment and disability inclusion. Through services like Psychological First Aid (PFA), Psychosocial Support (PSS), case management, and awareness-raising workshops

The project will cover five governorates of Gaza: North Gaza, Gaza City, Deir el-Balah, Khan Younis, and Rafah

Project Duration: 12 months 

To support this project, WAC is seeking qualified and motivated staff to fill the following positions

Available Positions

1. Facilitators 

Number of Vacancies: 5 (one for each governorate: North Gaza, Gaza City, Deir el-Balah, Khan Younis, and Rafah)

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate workshops and group discussions on GBV, child/early/forced marriage, gender equality, and women’s empowerment, ensuring active participation-
  • Manage daily field operations, overseeing schedules and ensuring smooth execution of activities-
  • Track participant progress, maintaining records and reporting on attendance and feedback-
  • Coordinate community mobilization efforts, ensuring smooth execution of outreach activities-
  • Lead support groups, providing a safe environment for sharing experiences and offering empowerment-
  • Build relationships with community members, local leaders, and partners to strengthen program impact-
  • Collaborate with other field team members, ensuring effective communication and coordination-
  • Assist in mobilizing GBV survivors to access relevant GBV services

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field-
  • At least 2 years of field experience in a community-based role, working directly with vulnerable populations or in a facilitation capacity-
  • Experience in organizing and facilitating workshops, sessions, or community outreach activities in the field-
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to lead group discussions and engage with diverse community members effectively-
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations, including women and girls, and understanding the challenges they face-

2. Case Workers

Number of Vacancies: 10 (Two for each governorate: North Gaza, Gaza City, Deir el-Balah, Khan Younis, and Rafah)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct case management services to survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) and harmful practices, including child, early, and forced marriage-
  • Conduct assessments, develop support plans, and provide ongoing assistance and referrals-
  • Ensure women and girls are linked with essential services (e.g., psychosocial, legal)-
  • Maintain accurate case records, including documentation of interventions, referrals, and outcomes-
  • Conduct outreach activities in the community to raise awareness of GBV services-

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field-
  • At least 2 years of experience in case management, preferably in a humanitarian or development context-
  • Strong understanding of GBV and child protection issues-
  • Knowledge of relevant local laws and referral systems-
  • Fluency in Arabic; knowledge of English is an asset-
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and handle sensitive cases-

3. Case Manager

Number of Vacancies: 01

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the case management activities of the 10 Case Workers-
  • Supervise and provide support and guidance to the Case Workers in implementing GBV case management-
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation of cases and services provided-
  • Coordinate referrals to appropriate service providers (health, legal, psychosocial)-
  • Conduct case reviews and ensure that survivors receive appropriate services based on their needs-
  • Organize and deliver training for frontline workers on case management protocols and procedures-

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field; Master’s degree is an asset-
  • At least 5 years of experience in case management, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role-
  • Strong understanding of GBV issues and response mechanisms-
  • Proven ability to manage a team and work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment-
  • Strong organizational and communication skills-
  • Fluency in Arabic; proficiency in English is an asset-

4. Psychologist Supervisor

Number of Vacancies: 01

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support the delivery of psychosocial support (PSS) services within Women and Girls Safe Spaces (WGSS)-
  • Provide technical guidance to PSS counselors and ensure the quality of services-
  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions for survivors of GBV and harmful practices-
  • Ensure adherence to ethical guidelines and best practices in providing psychosocial support-
  • Collaborate with the Case Manager to integrate psychosocial support into case management processes-
  • Conduct supervision and capacity-building activities for PSS staff-

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Psychology or a related field-
  • In-depth knowledge of GBV, trauma-informed care, and mental health issues-
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage sensitive cases-
  • Fluency in Arabic; proficiency in English is an asset-

5. Helpline Operator

Number of Vacancies: 01

Responsibilities:

  •  Provide timely and accurate information to callers seeking assistance with gender-based violence (GBV), child marriage, and other related services-
  •  Ensure the confidentiality and safety of all callers in line with safeguarding and data protection principles-
  •  Assist in case referrals to appropriate services, including case management and psychosocial support-
  •  Maintain accurate and updated records of calls and referrals-
  •  Provide emotional support and first-line psychosocial assistance to callers in distress-
  •  Coordinate with the project team to monitor the progress of referred cases and ensure follow-up-
  •  Support the development and maintenance of a resource database for available services in the area-
  •  Participate in regular training and capacity-building activities to stay informed on GBV-related issues and response protocols-

Qualifications & Experience:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, or a related field-
  •  At least 1 year of experience working in a helpline or call center, preferably in the field of GBV, child protection, or social services-
  •  Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening-
  •  Ability to work under pressure, with sensitivity to the needs and concerns of callers-
  •  Knowledge of GBV, child protection, and referral systems-
  •  Experience with data entry and managing records-
  •  Strong organizational skills and attention to detail-

6. Data Entry and Analysis Staff

Number of Vacancies: 5 (one for each governorate: North Gaza, Gaza City, Deir el-Balah, Khan Younis, and Rafah)

Responsibilities:

  •  Enter, update, and maintain accurate data related to project activities, beneficiaries, and services provided
  •  Review data for accuracy and completeness, ensuring that all required fields are filled correctly
  •  Perform routine data validation checks and resolve any discrepancies or errors
  •  Support data analysis efforts by compiling and organizing data for reports, presentations, and assessments
  •  Assist in generating statistical summaries and reports as needed by the project team
  •  Ensure that data storage is in compliance with privacy and confidentiality standards
  •  Provide technical support to team members in using data management tools and software
  •  Collaborate with other staff members to ensure timely and effective data reporting and usage

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Statistics, or a related field
  • At least 1 year of experience in data entry and data management
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, SPSS, and other data management tools
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis
  • Ability to work with large datasets and perform basic statistical analysis
  • Knowledge of data privacy principles and the ability to handle sensitive information securely
  •  Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Fluency in Arabic; Knowledge of  English is an asset
